Since 1985 TLC has worked with thousands of St. Louis nannies, families, and businesses to provide quality in-home and on-site child care. TLC was one of the first nanny and child care agencies in the United States and today serves as a national model and consultant to agencies throughout North America.

Screening

TLC only represents experienced caregivers with verifiable, good references who are warm, sensitive and alert to the needs of children. Our extensive application and interview process allows TLC and parents to carefully view the caregivers' child care experience, education and work history, personal lifestyle and child care philosophy. Our child care questionnaires and oral interview questions help us to assess the caregiver's knowledge of early childhood development and their ability to make decisions concerning the safety of their charges.

• Minimum high school diploma
• Child abuse and neglect checks
• Insured automobile
• 18 years or older
• Proof of citizenship

About The Owners

Sharon Graff-Radell and her sister, Stephanie Graff-Yaffee, both mothers of two, developed TLC to help parents find safe quality in-home child care. They were the first to make sick child care, on-call nannies, and in-home nanny care available to St. Louis parents. Sharon is currently serving the Board of Directors for the International Nanny Association (INA), of which she has been a member since 1988. Sharon was named Young Entrepreneur for the state of Missouri in 1990. Stephanie has been recruiting and matching nannies with families since she graduated from Emory University in 1989. Together with the assistance of the other professional TLC staff members, they have developed specialized training programs for nannies and postpartum care providers.
